Clement-Rome

St. Clement of Rome, (died .c.  95 AD)

“Ye have searched the scriptures, which are true, which were given
through the Holy Ghost; and ye know that nothing unrighteous or counterfeit is written in them”

“Out of love our Lord took us to himself; because he loved us and it was God’s will, our Lord Jesus Christ gave his life blood for us— he gave his body for our body, his soul for our soul.”

“Christ is with those of humble mind, not with those who exalt themselves over his flock.”

“We must on all things of this world as none of ours, and do not desire them. This world Wand that to come are enemies. We cannot therefore be friends to both, but must resolve which to forsake and which to enjoy.”

“O God, make us children of quietness, and heirs of peace.”

“Let us lay aside all vain and empty cares, and let us rise up to the glorious and venrable rule of our calling. Let us look steadfastly to the blood of Christ, and see how precious His blood is in the sight of God.”

“Let us think of the host of angels, how they stand by and serve his will.”

“It is through faith that Almighty God has justified all that have been from the beginning of time.”

“Let us every hour expect the kingdom of God, in love and righteousness, because we know not the day of Christ’s appearing.”

Grant unto us, Lord, that we may set our hope on Thy name…and open the eyes of our hearts, that we may know Thee.”
“We beseech Thee, Lord and Master, to be our help and succour. Save those among us who are in tribulation; have mercy on the lowly; lift up the fallen; show Thyself to those in need; heal the sick; turn again the wanderers of Thy people; feed the hungry; ransom our prisoners; raise up the weak; comfort the faint-hearted. Let all nations know that Thou art God alone, and that Jesus Christ is Thy Son, and that we are Thy people and the sheep of Thy pasture.”
“We praise Thee who art able to do these and better things than these, through Jesus Christ the High Priest and Guardian of our souls, through whom be glory and majesty to Thee, both now and throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.”
